University dilemmas

I have long debated over whether University is the right choice for me. At college it all became too much as the decision to go or not was practically chosen for us. The entire focus of our two years were personal statements, references, UCAS applications and endless revision timetables.
However, unlike my friends I could not envision my future in terms of my career. With University being at its most expensive as well, we are essentially choosing a £27,000 course and so I wanted to ensure it was a fundamental investment in my future.
This is where I feel something is going wrong. I have always been an A grade student, Cambridge and other top universities were mentioned to me as my potential from secondary school.
But instead of being inspired by University I was daunted by the prospect of being financially dependent on my parents and having to juggle lots of paid employment in addition to studying a full time course.
The current system I think is flawed in many ways. For starters, the amount of financial help you receive from the government is dependent on your parents income. This means I would have been far better off and comfortable going to university if my parents earned far less.
Although they may earn what the government considers too much to qualify for certain help I will by no means be getting large handouts from them. My accommodation will be basic and I will have to take any job going.

I do understand it allows young people from harder financial situations to further their education, but shouldn't we as a nation be inspiring our entire army of fresh faced college leavers to become degree holding professionals?  Wouldn't that be better for our economical status? Instead tuition fees have risen and I believe this sends the wrong message about the importance of education.

I have a bit more researching to do before making any big decisions but in the meantime I am working hard to save for a future i cant quite yet picture.

Fuss Free Solution to Straight Hair

The Parlux 3000

Last week I purchased The Parlux 3000 hairdryer after going to the hairdressers; my hair resembling what can only be described as a lions mane and walking out again feeling like i had just filmed a TV advertisement for Herbal Essence.
My stylist used the Parlux 3000 and without using a brush tamed my thick hair to sexy sleek.
Although being a bit on the pricey side ( i paid £69 from Amazon) its great for people like me who really don't enjoy spending hours on their hair with different styling tools. Paired with Lee Stafford Argon Oil, It gives me quick, straightened natural looking hair without frizz.
I would for sure recommend this, especially if you are looking for a fuss free solution to straight hair.

Matalan Homeware Haul.

Matalan Homeware Haul

I have never been to Matalan before and I popped in there only to find some hangers. I left with about 5 bags full and nearly £50 lighter.

Matalan's Homeware section is amazing!!! So cheap and really good quality items to add something a little extra to a room in need of some TLC.

My first ' Omg, i need this' moment was my new bed throw. It is the softest, cosiest thing for winter to snuggle into with a hot chocolate watching endless Youtube videos. At only £20 aswell it doesn't exactly break the bank either.
My next purchase was three cushions, i didn't need them but i was drawn in by their sexy maroon colour and fancy swirly patterns.

The last thing i picked up was two lovely smelling , large decorative candles, in the flavor SugarRed Berries and Lily Bloom.

It was an expensive hanger errand but very much worth it!

Asos is most probably my favorite online site.
Its pieces are fashion forward, the prices range from the affordable to the desirable and delivery is fast, free and without fuss.

I browse the 'New in' shamefully most nights and always spot a piece that I believe belongs in my wardrobe.

London

To celebrate mine and my boyfriends birthday's we headed up to London for 2 nights.
We wanted a budget hotel and so opted for the Premier Inn, Kensington, Earls Court.
We had a lovely stay there, everything was clean, the staff friendly and most importantly, the bar reasonably priced.
That evening we ate at Jamie's Italian in Covent Gardens (it is very busy so make sure you pre-book). It has such a lovely vibrant atmosphere, everyone talking and enjoying good food. Although, saying that we did sit near a table insistent in photographing every element of their meal. This became slightly frustrating when trying to enjoy my gorgeous Vegetable Rotolo Al Forno whilst being momentarily blinded by white light.
By the second course i am pretty sure they had run out of memory and so we were able to eat our delicious brownie and caramelized popcorn in dim romantic lighting.

It really was a lovely meal and I have only heard positive things about his restaurants.

The second day was mostly spent in Oxford Street.
Shopping on an empty stomach is a terrible idea so we popped into Ponti's Italian Kitchen on John Princes Street, Oxford Circus for breakfast. I had a huge bowl of warm porridge, topped with strawberries and banana and a freshly squeezed orange juice.
Coincidentally, of course, Pandora was only a 30 second walk away, and my boyfriend truly spoilt me in there and throughout the day.

To fuel our tired shopped out bodies we headed to Byron Burger in the evening. The best veggie burger i have ever had, which is hard to come across as usually they can be dry and pretty tasteless. After spending £20 on two drinks in a bar round the corner we headed back to the hotel.

It was such a lovely weekend. Comment or tweet me if you would like to see the jewelry and other pieces I bought on my trip.
